Thapelo Khumisi is an artist from South Africa.

Biography
Pianist, Composer, Music Tutor,Arranger and Bandleader, Born in Bloemfontein started playing in church and later studied Jazz and popular at Tshwane University of Technology graduated with B Tech and studied further in University of Pretoria Music Communication Graduated BMus Honors.

Work Experience

• I’ve work with local bands around Pretoria including 4 seasons, Quest, Nono Nkoane, Thabo Segoyane, 3Gees band.

• Performed at Macufe Festival (2004-2006),Moretele Festival 2013- 2015, Standardbank Joy of Jazz 2012-2018, Orbit home of jazz
• Work as musical director in two musical shows, Separapara and Life as we know it musical which was showcase in State Theatre 2008 and 2011
• Work with recording artist such as Pascaline Mabushe 2007,Morayks 2010-2014 and Selaelo Selota 2015-2018
• Worked at Tshwane University of Technology as students mentor of Improvisations course 2015-2016
• Currently started Thapelo Quintet which has been performing around the country mainly free state Bloemfontein and Gauteng
• With Quintet I have performed in various festival just to name a few Unisa Music Lunch hour, U Space, Bloemfontein Jazz Evenings and Jazz At Lawn Windmill casino
• Former Music coordinator at Tshwane School of Music 2013-2019, Tshwane University of technology as Ensemble and improvisation Lecture 2015-2016 .
• Also working for Unisa music foundation as jazz piano and ensemble conductor at Unisa Jazz Combo 2016- present
