Viktor Matoto

Viktor Matoto is a Xitsonga songwriter, music composer, and artist from Wayeni, a small village in Limpopo, South Africa. Raised in the dusty streets of Alexandra Township, Johannesburg, Matoto embarked on his music journey in 2021 with the release of his mixtape Vahlengwe. In 2024, he gained widespread recognition with his hit single "Nomayini," featuring Ngud_98 and PJay, which opened new doors for him in the music industry. Matoto was nominated for Hip Hop Song of the Year at the KZN Namuhla Artist Awards 2024, where he went on to win the award, further solidifying his status as an artist known for his authentic storytelling.

He has performed at several major events, including Propaganda Pretoria, Hatfield 2.0, and rallies for the ANC and EFF at Alexandra Stadium, as well as at the AMPD Studio. Matoto also took part in a school tour in partnership with SANCA Alex to raise awareness about substance abuse.

Matoto is set to embark on his Xigaza 2 Misava tour, which aims to introduce Tsonga music to the world. He is also preparing to release his highly anticipated album Nomayini 4 le Soft Life in 2025.
