Bio
Founded in 1993, The Voice is a print and online newspaper based in Francistown, Botswana. It started off as The Francistowner Extra and opened offices its offices in the national capital in Gaborone in 1999. The publication is a tabloid that focuses on short stories, bigger pictures and bolder headlines. Readership is at 30,000 copies per edition containing mostly human interest stories.
The paper is a recipient of several awards including the 2008 Sol Plaatje leadership and excellence award in the region, in recognition of its effort in reporting HIV/AIDS. In 2015, the newspaper won the coveted Print Media of the Year courtesy of the Botswana National Sports Council.
