Zimpraise Choir
Bio
Zimpraise Choir (founded October 2006), is a gospel music ensemble from Harare, Zimbabwe. As of 2010, the group was led by Joseph Madziyire. In June 2017, Madziyire announced that he would be stepping down as musical director of the group.
Made up of about 50 members, the choir is under the guidance of well-known Zimbabwean producer Macdonald Macdee Chidavaenzi and Garikai Ndanga. Zimpraise shot to fame with the song ‘Sungano’ (2013). The group has released a few CDs and DVDs namely:‘Audio CD Season 1’ (2007), ‘Season 2 Audio CD’ (2008), ‘Season 3 Live DVD Launch’ (2011), ‘Season 4 Live DVD Launch’ (2012), ‘Season 5 Live DVD Launch’ (2013).
The choir has collaborated with a number of musicians such as Sabastian Magacha, Blessing Shumba, Mathias Mhere, Mechanic Manyeruke, Comfort Manyame and Charles Charamba.
Zimpraise has performed in the UK (2013 and 2015), the US (2014) and Canada (2014). In April 2015, Zimpraise was invited to the US by pastor TD Jakes to perform at a church conference.
