Music education in Africa & Africa in music education

This panel will provide insight into the state of music education on the continent, as well as the opportunities, challenges and best practices associated with this sector. This panel also aims to highlight local and international music education initiatives available to Africans and evaluate the impact of African music in the global curriculum. In addition, the panel will seek to enquire about how to develop a curriculum that allows students to express and develop their musical creativity within their own cultural environments, the teaching tools available at various institutions, how to formalise training and educational efforts, and how to encourage institutional cooperation on the continent and internationally.
