Call for applications: Art critics' residencies in France
ACROSS, a curatorial and art critic's residency programme, is accepting applications from individuals with curating and/or art critic experience to participate in a weeklong residency in Nice, France, next year.
ACROSS was launched in 2015 by Thankyouforcoming, an institution supported by the French Ministry of Culture and the City of Nice.
It operates as a platform that fosters links and collaborations between the local art ecosystem and international professionals. The platform also allows participants to discover the French Riviera's contemporary art scene and to develop their research.
The organisers are at the disposal of residents, before and during the residency period, to facilitate contacts and organise visits and meetings with artists, institutions, curators, collectors, galleries and museums in Nice, Monaco, Mouans-Sartoux, Antibes, Cannes and Vence.
The application deadline is 15 September 2019.
Terms of the residency
- One opportunity for a seven-day residency is available for two individuals.
- Thankyouforcoming provides a fully equipped apartment in the centre of Nice.
- Return travel expenses refunded (subject to the provision of receipts) up to €250 for each residency.
- A total grant of €250 is offered for seven days.
- The resident is requested to propose a public event during his or her stay.
Requirements
- A short text introducing your overall curatorial and critical approach.
- A resume detailing the projects you have undertaken as an art critic and/or curator.
