Call for applications: International Songwriting Competition
The US-based International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is accepting entries from all over the world for its 2019 edition.
The annual song contest seeks to provide the opportunity for both aspiring and established songwriters to have their songs heard in a professional, international arena.
“ISC is designed to nurture the musical talent of songwriters on all levels and promote excellence in the art of songwriting. Amateur and professional songwriters and musicians are invited to participate,” reads their official website.
“ISC has the most prestigious panel of judges of all the songwriting and music contests in the world, offering exposure and the opportunity to have your songs heard by the most influential decision-makers in the music industry.”
The deadline for application is 12 June 2019.
Participants of any age can submit entries in the following categories:
- Adult Album Alternative (AAA)
- Adult Contemporary (AC)
- Americana
- Blues
- Children's Music
- Christian
- Comedy/Novelty
- Country
- Electronic Dance Music (EDM)
- Folk/Singer-Songwriter
- Instrumental
- Jazz
- Latin Music
- Lyrics Only
- Music Video
- Performance
- Pop/Top 40
- R&B/Hip-Hop
- Rock
- Teen
- Unpublished
- Unsigned Only
- World Music
Entrants may submit as many songs as they wish - either in the same category or in multiple categories.
How to apply
To be able to fill out the online application form, which can be accessed here, entrants must:
- Read and understand the guidelines
- Pay $25 for every song submitted
Winners will be awarded based on:
- Creativity
- Originality
- Lyrics (excludes songs that do not have lyrics).
- Melody
- Arrangement
- Overall likeability
- Production/Recording quality
- Vocal ability
