
Call for applications: KZN Music Imbizo 2018
KZN Music Imbizo is calling on music industry professionals to apply to participate in the various activities that will be part of the conferences’ 10th edition at Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa, between 23 and 25 August. The closing date for applications is 13 May.
- KZN Music Imbizo is known for hosting panel discussion.
The KZN Music Imbizo, which will run under the theme No Borders – Let the Music Travel, allows individuals or organisations to apply for participation as speakers, delegates and showcasing musicians or bands. Artists can also apply for the event’s gqom battle.
The three pillars of the conference will focus on revenue streams, marketing and advertising as well as stage and performance. Also on the agenda are topics such as music mobility, digital distribution, film scoring and touring, the impact of visas on travelling, bilateral agreements, and the effects of politics on the music industry.

About KZN Music Imbizo
Designed to engage and create opportunities for delegates and participants, KZN Music Imbizo is an international music conference that hosts music industry stakeholders under one roof to map the way forward for the African music industry. It is a platform on which players exhibit, showcase, network and share knowledge about the continent’s music industry.
In the past, the conference has hosted a number of prominent music professionals. Last year, a number delegates from international festivals such as Roskilde Festival (Denmark), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Sauti za Busara (Zanzibar), AZGO Festival (Mozambique), Back to the City Festival (South Africa), Bayimba (Uganda), MTN Bushfire (Swaziland) and WOMEX attended the conference.
