Call for applications: Symphonic Distribution mentorship for women
Global distribution service Symphonic this week announced that it had launched Women Empowerment++, a mentorship programme that aims to fast track the progress of emerging female music professionals.
The initiative will feature a host of women mentors including Spotify artist and label partner manager Laura Marin, Symphonic chief operating officer Rebekah Graff and Deezer’s artist relations manager, Regina Martiarena. Other mentors are from companies such as Audiomack, Songtrust, YouTube and the American Association of Independent Music, among others.
Symphonic hopes to empower the participants by connecting them with established professionals and peers who can offer valuable advice and guidance. Mentees will get an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the music industry’s business practices and culture, focus their efforts, and hone their skills with some of the best in the business.
“Our team created this programme to provide additional opportunities for women in the music industry in what is often a male-dominated business,” Symphonic head of corporate marketing Janette Berrios said. “We hope that the connections and relationships formed through the programme will inspire growth and support and create extraordinary opportunities for a new generation of women.”
“Symphonic has always placed great importance on empowering emerging talent in the music industry, especially through fostering connections with established professionals and peers who can offer valuable advice and guidance,” the company said. “That’s why we’ve created Women Empowerment++.
With this mentorship programme, mentees get the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the music industry’s business practices and culture, focus their efforts, and hone their skills with some of the best in the business.”
Interested individuals can apply here before 22 March.
