Call for entries: Chainsaw Game and Music Festival in USA
The Chainsaw Game and Music Festival is accepting entries for its 2021 edition in California, USA.
The annual event brings together the world’s best games, music and music videos of all genres into an international event to share new worlds and unique audiovisual experiences.
“The focus of the festival is to take audiences to new worlds from the minds of the world’s best creatives,” the organisers said. “The awards of the Chainsaw Game and Music Festival honour the achievements of game developers, musicians and directors from around the world who collaborate and apply their unique creative power to share unique worlds and experiences.”
The 2021 programme will include the best games in each genre, including platforms for desktop, console, mobile and virtual reality, as well as music, music videos, game music, film music, and soundtracks.
The award categories include:
- Best Music Video
- Best Game Music
- Best Game Audio
- Best Film Soundtrack
- Best Director
- Best Game
- Best Game Narrative
Who can apply?
The Chainsaw Game and Music Festival accepts entries from:
- Musicians
- Developers
- Directors
- Any other professionals
Note:
- The festival does not accept offensive, illegal, discriminatory or harmful works.
- The festival does not accept anything that discloses the personal information and likeness of any individual without their permission.
- Submission means you read and agree to the complete rules and terms of the festival.
- The festival does not provide fee waivers or refunds.
- The festival will not pay screening fees, and it is assumed that any submitted film is both available to be screened, with no legal restrictions, and without expectation of a price being paid.
- Please be aware that if the film is selected to run in the festival, entrants will be requested to subtitle the film in English as the festival is inclusive to all audiences.
- Paying a submission fee does not mean entrants will be automatically accepted into the festival.
- Winners will be notified via email.
Selection
- The official selections of the programme include projects whose excellence brings these worlds to life while additionally awarding special category winners for the standouts of the season.
- The Chainsaw Game and Music Festival will publish the name of the winners online, and certificates will be awarded.
Submissions and deadlines
- Early bird – 15 January 2021
- Regular deadline – 15 March 2021
- Late deadline – 15 May 2021
- Extended deadline – 15 September 2021
The submission fee for the early birds is $10 and $15 for other deadlines.
