Call for entries: South African Music Awards 2018
The organisers of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) are calling on artists to submit entries for the 24th edition of the event. Hosted by the Recording industry South Africa (RiSA), SAMAs seek to honour excellence South African artists who have released new material between 1 February 2017 and 31 January 2018.
Founded in 1995, the award ceremony will be held in late April or May with the judging process starting about six months prior to the ceremony. The deadline for submission is 31 January 2018. Entries are submitted by record companies/individual artists, in accordance with the SAMA rules.
Chief executive officer of RiSA Nonhlanhla Sibisi said they “have seen a year on year increase over the past two years and we await with great anticipation to see the calibre of entries for SAMA 24.
“The SAMAs have proved its resilience and mettle as the most coveted music honour South African artists aspire to receive. This is a call to everyone who is a qualifying artist to submit their entries for our consideration and not wait until the last day.”
