Call for proposals: 2019 Youth Expressions Festival SA

Successful applicants will have their work featured at the festival in Pretoria from 1 to 30 June 2019. All proposals must be submitted to eyct@statetheatre.co.za with the genre of interest in the subject line of the email.

The deadline for submissions is 31 August.

Proposals for the following genres will be considered:

• Music
• Musical theatre
• Children’s theatre
• Dance/physical theatre
• Drama
• Poetry
• Visual arts

Requirements

Applicants who wish to be considered for the Youth Expressions Festival should send the following documentation:

• A motivation letter about how the production is relevant, meaningful and entertaining.
• Creative team information that includes biographies and contact details.
• Full script and a brief synopsis.
• Four-paged narrative treatment (if there is no script or if it will be a dance/devised production).
• For visual artists, a full portfolio is required.

Applicants must be aged between 18 and 35 years in 2019. The SAST will provide all selected candidates with artistic and technical support.
