Call for proposals: Community Arts Festival in SA

The opportunity is open to organisations and individuals who are looking for a potential partner to assist with the financial costs of staging a musical, drama or dance production. The organisers seek performing theatre companies and individuals who want to stage a production but have no venue to present it at.

How to apply

There are no restrictions on the genre of productions which will be considered. Interested candidates need to email artscoordinator2@playhousecompany.com with a comprehensive motivation that includes the following:

• A detailed proposal about the production to be staged.
• Information regarding the production company including history and experience.
• A letter of reference from a credible source.
• Support material about the company’s previous work will be an advantage.

The following criteria must be met in order for the productions to be considered:

• Submit a list of the creative team which includes: cast members, technical team and the rest of the creative team.
• The production must be stage-ready.
• Maximum one-hour duration.
• No live bands are permitted.

All selected companies and applicants will be invited to showcase their productions at The Playhouse.

The application deadline is 31 May and late submissions will not be considered.
