eSwatini: Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival date announced
The Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival will be held at House on Fire in Malkerns, eSwatini, on 1 October.
Launched by MTN Bushfire in 2017, the festival is a feast of music, fashion, culinary exploits, craft beverages and whisky tasting. The event, which brings the Bushfire ethos of diversity, inclusion and social responsibility, will host musicians, artisans, chefs, wineries, breweries and restaurants.
“The Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival has become an aspirational regional event,” festival director Jiggs Thorne said. “The rapid growth of the festival footprint, in spite of the challenges posed by COVID-19, is an encouraging sign of the festival’s increasing relevance in the domestic and regional tourism sectors, and to support this growth trajectory, we have decided to expand our camping and glamping options for this year.”
Standard Bank eSwatini head of brand and marketing Sibusile Sigwane says the festival emphasises the bank’s commitment to the local economy and arts industry.
“Since the inception of the festival in 2018, the Luju ecosystem has grown tremendously and consists of a number of stakeholders who benefit from this event,” Sigwane said. “This includes over 500 temporary staff, security personnel, entrepreneurs, traders, local artisans and artists.
Tickets and vendor application forms for the food, fashion, design and lifestyle sectors, as well as for the Honey Bee Park for children, will be available on the Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival website from 15 July.
More details on festival tickets, camping, glamping and travel packages will be released in due course.
