Green Day, The Offspring set for Calabash South Africa 2025
US rock bands Green Day and The Offspring will perform at the Calabash South Africa music festival at the DHL Stadium in Johannesburg and Cape Town on 19 and 23 January 2025, respectively.
The festival, which will be headlined by Green Day, had its inaugural edition in January, with performances from Maroon 5, Keane, Meduza, Ava Max, Will Linley and Lloyiso.
This will be Green Day’s first performance in South Africa. A seminal pop punk group formed in 1986, Green Day is known for songs such as ‘Basket Case’, ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, ‘Holiday’, and ‘Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)’ and widely praised albums like Dookie (1994) and American Idiot (2004).
The Offspring is known for songs like ‘The Kids Aren’t Alright’, ‘You’re Gonna Go Far’, ‘Kid’, ‘Self Esteem’ and ‘Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)’. In 1994, they released Smash, one of their most popular albums. The group will perform with South African rock group Fokofpolisiekar.
Tickets to the festival can be purchased here, with a pre-sale via Discovery Bank.
