Muziki Africa 2023 announces top 10 speakers
Muziki Africa has announced the top 10 music professionals who will speak at the music conference in Cape Town, South Africa, from 4 to 6 September.
The conference, which will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, is part of FAME Week Africa, a multifaceted summit designed to bring together different sectors of the African creative economy, including music, film, TV, animation and entertainment technology.
The summit will take place from 3 and 10 September and feature different segments including Muziki Africa, MIP Africa, Media & Entertainment Solutions Africa and the Cape Town International Animation Festival.
The top 10 Muziki Africa speakers are:
- Sipho Dlamini – Gamma president for Africa and the Middle East.
- Zakes Bantwini – South African Grammy-winning singer, record producer and entrepreneur.
- Ninel Musson – Vth Season co-founder.
- Shiro Mwendwa – Sheer Publishing head of creative and licensing.
- Mx Blouse – recording artist.
- Justin van Wyk – Big Concerts International and Ticketmaster South Africa CEO.
- Phiona Okumu – Spotify head of music for sub-Saharan Africa.
- Eddie Hatitye – Music in Africa Foundation executive director.
- Antos Stella – The Music Arena CEO.
- Munya Chanetsa – EMPIRE Publishing managing director.
“With the luminaries included in the list and so many more attending, Muziki Africa serves as a platform that brings together influential figures from various corners of the music industry,” FAME Week Africa said. “It is a meeting of minds and hearts that promises enlightening conversations about the current and future impact of African music on a world ready to discover its nuances and value.”
Presented by The Music Arena, Muziki Africa has also announced its programme of activities, with the conference hosting discussions about the latest music industry trends, women in music, music synchronisation, the evolving music landscape, and much more.
Muziki Africa will also host masterclasses and workshops as well as the Muziki Africa Sync Hub for networking and deal-making and the FAME After Dark spotlight sessions featuring selected artists at various venues in Cape Town.
