Ndlovu Youth Choir has become one of South Africa’s most loved choral groups. Since its inception in 2009, it has been recognised locally and internationally for its unique musical styles. The choir has performed leading music festivals, and is currently touring Germany and the Netherlands.
“Ndlovu Youth Choir brings an incredible energy to every performance and we are proud to have Africa’s singing ambassadors back on stage to share their talents with audiences in Johannesburg and Cape Town in this return concert series,” Showtime Management director Tony Feldman said. “The popularity of the choir is enormous and soon they will be back by popular demand.”
This year’s local tour will feature 15 choristers, a live three-piece band and conductor, composer and producer, Ralf Schmitt. Among the choir's famous hits are ‘Africa’, ‘Easy On Me’, ‘Shape of You’, ‘Higher Love’, ‘Man in the Mirror’, and ‘We Will Rise’. Their repertoire also includes ‘Mbube’ and ‘Special Star’, as well as original compositions such as ‘Grateful’ and ‘Celebrate’ from their third studio album, Grateful.
From their home base in the Moutse Valley in rural Limpopo, Ndlovu Youth Choir has played sold-out concerts in Europe, America, and Africa, and has appeared on many local and international TV and radio shows. The group has collaborated with many artists such as Master KG, P!nk, Sun-El Musician, Kygo and performed for Trevor Noah, King Charles and Bill Gates.
