Nigeria: Flavour shares Big Baller single
Nigerian highlife veteran Flavour has shared his latest single titled ‘Big Baller’. The song, taken off his forthcoming album African Royalty, is available for streaming and download across all major digital platforms.
‘Big Baller’ weaves Igbo drums, trumpet melodies and cultural refrains, among other elements constituting Flavour’s signature sound. Driven by lyrics that radiate confidence, the record celebrates the lavish lifestyle of affluent Africans, and finds its author extending an invitation to listeners to immerse themselves in extravagance, rendering it an anthem for those who savour a life of abundance.
The record is “timed perfectly for the festive season” and “reaffirms his diverse stylistic range and melodic prowess but also serves as another testament to his musical excellence,” Flavour’s team said.
‘Big Baller’ follows the release of ‘Game Changer’, which has accumulated more than 5.3 million streams on Spotify and garnered more than 18 million views on YouTube.
Last year’s ‘My Sweetie’ surpassed 6.6 million views on YouTube, and his 2021 hit ‘Levels’ achieved more than 4 million streams on Spotify and 24 million views on YouTube.
Flavour boasts a decade-long career powered by groundbreaking hits such as ‘Nwa Baby’, ‘Ariva’ and ‘Time to Party’. His debut LP N’abania was released in 2005, and his discography boasts seven studio albums.
He has collaborated with renowned colleagues across the continent, such as Diamond Platnumz, Fally Ipupa, Theresa Onuorah, Semah G Weifur and P-Square.
African Royalty is due for release on 1 December.
