Nigerian aggregator Publiseer to distribute to Lazy Joy
Content distributed by Nigerian music aggregator Publiseer will now be available on Chinese audiobook and e-book platform Lazy Joy.
Founded in 2017 by Chidi and Chika Nwaogu, Publiseer has collaborated with more than 7 000 creatives including musicians, independent writers, filmmakers and video game developers in African countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Togo to monetise and promote their works.
The company is also involved in content fine-tuning before distribution, such as music remastering and video postproduction.
The development is expected to provide creators and authors with more exposure, particularly on smartphone brands by Xiaomi, Vivo, Huawei, Oppo, Transsion and TCL.
Chidi Nwaogu says distributing content to Lazy Joy, including e-books and audiobooks, “brings us a step closer towards making our authors truly global. Authors on Publiseer don’t need to take any action to get their books on Lazy Joy. We will do that for them automatically.”
The move comes after Publiseer announced in April that it would begin distributing songs to social networking platforms such as Triller and Snapchat. Publiseer also distributes to Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora and Deezer, among other digital service providers.
“Adding Triller and Snapchat to our list of music partners is something we’ve had in the pipeline for a long time now, and we’re happy to see where this milestone takes us,” Chidi Nwaogu said.
Last week, Publiseer was accepted into the 2022 Starta Accelerator programme in New York, US. The soft-landings programme equips international startups to scale their US market presence while raising capital.
