Open call: Up the Creek 2025 artist search competition
South African artists are invited to submit entries to perform at Up the Creek festival in cape Town, South Africa, from 6 to 9 February 2025.
The competition is courtesy of Up the Creek festival and KFM 94.5. One artist or band will have the chance to secure a set on the Flying Fish River Stage on 8 February 8, giving them the opportunity to perform to the festival’s 2 500 audience. The artist or band will join a line-up of over 50 other artists at the festival.
To enter the competition, entrants should post a video on their socials stating why they think they deserve to perform at the festival. They should tag @kfmza & @upthecreek_festival with the hashtags #KFMxUpTheCreek #CreekArtistSearch.
- The winning band or artist will be announced by 17 January 2025.
- The selected winner will be compensated for their travel costs.
- The selected artist or band will need to provide their own camping gear should they elect to stay overnight at the festival.
Meanwhile, the organisers have announced the artists who will perform at the festival including Karen Zoid, Hot Water, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Desmond & The Tutus, Phfat, Grassy Spark, Jackal & The Wind, Riaan Smit, Dirty Disco Records, Dave Ferguson, Keanan Eksteen, and Black Mamba Man.
The will be joined by Australia’s Hollow Coves, and local legends Francois Van Coke, Matthew Mole, The Black Cat Bones, Albert Frost, Droomsindroom, Die Piesangskille, Unyazi, Ben Dey, Murray, Lucy Kruger and the Lost Boys, Warongx, Freddy L, and Luukhanyo & The Hii Rollers.
