Open call: Ghana Music Awards UK 2024
Submissions are ongoing for the eighth edition of the Ghana Music Awards UK (GMA-UK).
Organised by Alordia Promotions and West Coast UK, the platform recognises the influence of Ghanaian music in the UK across more than 30 categories. It also aims to foster collaboration, cultural exchange and marketing opportunities for local artists.
At last year’s ceremony, held at The Royal Regency in London, dancehall singer Shatta Wale emerged as the night’s biggest winner. He beating fellow artists Black Sherif, Piesie Esther, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and King Promise to win the Artist of the Year Award. He also took home awards for Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year and Song of the Year, while his Shatta Movement fan base was recognised as the Most Dominant Fanbase of the Year.
To be eligible for trophies at this year’s GMA-UK, submitted works must have been released between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024.
