Open call: Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra programmes manager
The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO) is looking for an experienced individual to fill in the position of education and community engagement programmes manager.

The successful applicant will report to the chief executive and artistic director (CE&AD) in the advancement and implementation of JPO’s education and community engagement programmes, while also providing administrative support to the CE&AD.
The successful applicant will be responsible at both a strategic and operational level in the following key performance areas:
- Coordination of education and community engagement programmes.
- Logistical planning and implementation.
- Provision of support and relevant information to the marketing and fundraising departments.
- Provision of administrative support to the CE&AD.
- Management of the monitoring and evaluation process related to the portfolio.
- Budgeting and financial management.
Applicants who are passionate about working for a professional orchestra and who can demonstrate that they meet the minimum criteria set out below are invited to apply:
- Tertiary qualification in music.
- A minimum of five years of working experience in the music field.
- A proven track record in networking with arts, educational and community organisations.
- Excellent administration, planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
