Open call: Nigeria International Gospel Music Awards 2023
Submissions are currently ongoing for this year’s Nigeria International Gospel Music Awards (NIGMA), ahead of the ceremony at MUSON Centre in Onikan, Lagos, on 19 November.

Previously known as The Nigeria Gospel Music Awards, the scheme returns in 2023 after a nine-year hiatus. It recognises outstanding feats in Nigerian gospel music, honouring artists who have made significant contributions to the industry.
NIGMA welcomes participation from gospel artists in Nigeria and those of Nigerian descent living abroad. To be eligible for nomination, submitted works must have been released between January 2022 and August 2023.
Interested musicians or their representatives may apply online here before 15 October.
“NIGMA remains devoted to honouring the global impact of Nigerian gospel music, consistently identifying and applauding the extraordinary accomplishments of Nigerian gospel artists who have achieved widespread recognition and positively impacted lives well beyond our nation’s borders,” a statement reads.
In July, awards founder Kingsley Omoefe said the rebrand aligns with their vision to celebrate and promote the exceptional talents of Nigerian gospel music artists on a global scale.
NIGMA project coordinator Victor Igbinigie added: “The revamped awards ceremony will showcase remarkable talents across various categories, recognising artists, songwriters, producers and other contributors, who have made significant contributions to the genre’s growth and influence.”
The submission process and more details can be found here, while inquiries can be directed via email to thenigmawards@gmail.com.
