Open call: Nominations for 2024 Basadi in Music Awards
The Basadi in Music Awards (BIMAs) are inviting the public to submit nominees ahead of the 2024 edition of the awards show, which will be held at the Joburg Theatre in South Africa on 10 August.
Artists and the public have until 19 May to submit their entries in 22 categories. Now in their third year, the BIMAs continue to shine the spotlight on achievements by women in all areas of the music industry, from singers, rappers and DJs to composers, producers and creatives.
This year’s ceremony, set for the iconic Mandela Stage at the Joburg Theatre, carries the powerful theme, Girl in the Mirror – Our Re.Flexion.
“BIMA is more than an awards ceremony, it’s a platform for celebrating women’s extraordinary talent and resilience in music and entertainment,” BIMAs CEO Hloni Modise-Matau said. “We’re thrilled to launch the campaign for BIMA 2024 nominations. This year’s theme underscores the importance of introspection and growth, qualities that women in the music and entertainment industry embody perfectly. We encourage the public to actively participate and nominate those who inspire them.”
