Outpouring of support for Kenya’s ailing event organizer, Big Kev

Big Kev, the proprietor of Trublaq Entertainment, has for more than seven years suffered seizures that have seen him undergo numerous surgeries to remove a total of 13 brain tumours.  He underwent his last major surgery on 10 October 2016 in India, where doctors removed five tumours and two blood clots from his lung and ankle. Unfortunately, following this surgery, he lost his eyesight and has been using a wheelchair. He had another emergency operation on 4 January 2017.

He narrates his ordeals in a Facebook post: “I became familiar with a process known as physiotherapy and an even more painful drawn out process called occupational therapy, where you undergo stretches and the therapists teach your brain how to do the simplest things like holding a key to a door. I have repeated this process every year since then, sometimes twice.”

However, an upbeat Big Kev has expressed faith that he will soon recover and has received overwhelming love and support from the industry. In December, he organized an event named the Gospel Extravaganza that was headlined by American gospel artist, Ron Kenoly.
