Participate in Pro Audio’s critical listening challenge
Pro Audio is calling on interested musicians and engineers to join its critical listening challenge to improve their audio mixing skills.
Participants will be able to learn new techniques from any mix and mix analytically. The challenge will offer participants in-depth understanding of genres and markets that they work in or are trying to break into. The course will also direct participants to free tools for various mixing techniques.
The challenge offers seven-day or 28-day versions. Participants can start with either option and switch to another later. The complete course takes about 39 minutes, and the modules include The Tools You Will Need, Creating Your Playlist and What to Listen to.
All the techniques discussed can be employed on any digital audio workstation (DAW), while the plugins can be downloaded for free.
“How to become better at anything using the 1% rule and the best way to improve any skill is to practice often, even if just for a few minutes every day,” Pro Audio says. “You can get a lot out of this challenge even if you dedicate less than five minutes per day, but the more time you spend analysing songs, the more juice you'll get out of the full process.”
Pro Audio is a digital platform dedicated to professional audio. It offers an online multimedia classroom, with 4K ultra HD video, interactive quizzes and exercises, and 360º content with 3D spatial audio.
The platform says its “masterclasses are carefully designed and structured in a way that maximises and facilitates the learning process, including end-of-lesson summaries and quizzes that help you effortlessly absorb all the concepts.”
Interested musicians and producers can join the challenge on Pro Audio’s official website.
