Register for Virtual WOMEX Africa Networking Session on 12 October
The organisers of the Worldwide Music Expo (WOMEX) are inviting interested participants to register for its Africa Networking Session on 12 October at 2pm CAT.
The session, which is organised as part of the Virtual WOMEX digital event programme, will be coordinated by Nyege Nyege co-founder Derek Debru (Belgium/Uganda) and Chocolate City executive vice-president Aibee Abidoye (Nigeria).
“Developing Africa-wide networks between stakeholders in the culture and music industries on the continent is critical in developing ad hoc infrastructure and know-how to develop a strong internal market. By sharing challenges, opportunities and experiences, this session aims to take open participants to more cross-continental collaborations,” WOMEX says.
The Virtual Womex events programme also includes the Asian, Central & Eastern European, North American, Pan Indigenous and Global Latinos 5.0 networking sessions.
Register for the Africa Networking Session here.
Meanwhile, delegate registration is ongoing for the physical edition of WOMEX 21 in the Portuguese city of Porto from 27 to 31 October. The global music trade event will feature showcases, film screenings, and conference and networking sessions with music professionals from around that world.
Speakers from Africa include Herman Kabubi (Uganda/US), Guy-Marc Tony Mefe (Cameroon), Ouafa Belgacem (Tunisia), Em Ekong (UK/Ghana), Lenna Bahule (Mozambique) and Andre Le Roux (South Africa), among others.
