SA: DJ Supta drops Khuleka single
South African radio host and DJ Supta has released a new single titled ‘Khuleka’.
The vibrant Afro-tech creation is a reimagination of Josh Groban’s classic ‘Remember When It Rained’. Featuring the enchanting vocals of house sensation Basetsana, this soul-stirring track takes listeners on a voyage of tranquility, embracing the promise of hope and new beginnings with each beat.
With ‘Khuleka’, Supta reaffirms his position as a rising star in South African music scene, captivating audiences with his unique fusion of soulful rhythms and mesmerisng melodies.
The artist, who signed a recording deal with Warner Music Africa (WMA) early this month, started his journey into the world of music at an early age, and quickly made his mark as a prominent radio personality. In 2019, a career-defining collaboration with Prince Kaybee on ‘Gugulethu’ propelled him into the limelight. The chart-topping hit garnered millions of views on YouTube and secured him two South African Music Awards (SAMAs) nominations.
Building on this success, Supta’s discography continued to impress with tracks like ‘Indoda Emadodeni’ featuring Nkosazana Daughter and ‘Ntinga Ntaka’ with Thalitha and Obie.
On his signing with WMA, Supta said: “I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been making music for quite some time and for the first time, I feel at home.”
WMA creative lead Garth Brown said: “We are so proud and excited to collaborate with Supta on the new music he has been working on. The upcoming project justifies his long silence, the music was worth the wait.”
After ‘Emathandweni’, Supta will release an EP later this year with guest appearances from local artists Peekay Mzee, Thalitha, Jim MasterShine and Basetsana, among others.
