The release will mark a personal chapter in the Johannesburg-born artist’s career. It will offer a reflection on his journey through fame, self-growth, and the challenges of staying grounded in a demanding industry.
The record is a prelude to his forthcoming album, Not Famous, expected to drop later this April. The album expands on the themes introduced in ‘Trouble Again’, with standout tracks such as ‘RARE’ and ‘HURT MYSELF’ offering listeners an unfiltered look into Kane’s evolution, from humble beginnings to navigating fame without compromising his identity.
‘Trouble Again’ explores the emotional and mental toll of artistic ambition, set against the backdrop of an industry that often demands constant reinvention. Fusing raw emotion with introspective lyricism, the track showcases Kane’s ability to be both vulnerable and unapologetically bold.
“My journey has been about self-discovery and ambition, and ‘Trouble Again’ reflects the complexities of those experiences,” Kane Keid said. “It’s about confronting my battles, learning from them, and continuing to push forward despite the pressures.”
Kane Keid began his musical journey in 2016, performing for school audiences and writing rhymes shaped by his upbringing and a love for old-school hip hop, soul, and R&B. Since then, he has carved a space for himself within local hip hop scene, rising to national attention after securing a top 10 spot in Sportscene’s acclaimed Put Me On competition.
Over the years, Kane has collaborated with heavyweight artists including Priddy Ugly, Tyson Sybateli, and Touchline, while also gracing stages at prestigious events such as CottonFest, Sneaker Exchange, and Back To The City Festival, where he performed alongside US rapper Benny The Butcher. With over 300 000 streams on Spotify he continues to solidify his presence in the industry.
