SA: Magic Music Sessions slated for 6 August
The organisers of Magic Music Sessions have announced that the 2022 Afro-soul edition will take place at Time Square's Sun Arena in Pretoria on 6 August.
The event is organised by Vertex Events, in association with Mzansi Magic Music, will feature top South African artists, including Zonke, Elaine and Sjava.
Now in its sixth edition, the concert was initially slated to take place over two days in August. However, following the lifting of Covid-19 regulations which permits 100% venue capacity, the organisers decided to host the entire line-up of artists on one day without changing the artists' line-up.
Mafikizolo, Winnie Mashaba, Big Zulu, Lloyiso, Nomfundo Moh, Langa Mavuso, Ayanda Jiya and Aubrey Qwana are also expected to perform in the event that will be hosted by digital creator and MC Sipho Alphi Mkhwanazi.
“Merging the two nights will now allow for an even better experience,” Vertex Events executive director Thato Segaole said.
The event will showcase soul and gospel sounds in the massive production which will entail live bands.
“Experience some of Mzansi`s seasoned artists performing alongside a live band, Vergex Events said. “The idea of the transition from electronic to acoustic, synthesiser to saxophone with live bands to make musical sounds more authentic live.”
The convert has featured big international names such as Grammy Award-winning artists Musiq Soulchild and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
Doors will open at 2pm. Purchase tickets to the event here.
