You Are My Sunday is a platform that seeks to shine a spotlight on emerging local artists in the country. Founded five years ago, the platform has been championing rising musicians and is committed to fostering emerging talent and celebrating the creativity of upcoming artists. When We Reach is a celebration of musical talent and innovation, with a diverse line-up of artists.
Confirmed artists who will perform at the event include Venus Raps, S B X, Ty Loner, Ammo Moses, A.D and DJ Sedi.
“I'm inspired by all the workshops I have attended from Women In Music, Basadi in Music Awards, AMPD Studios masterclasses, SAMRO and CAPASSO,” Rah Punzl told Music In Africa. “They have made me believe that my ideas are worth exploring and if manifested, they can uplift others and thus the creation of this platform and event.”
Rah Punzl said proceeds from ticket sales would go to any women NGO, while the remainder would go towards accommodation for artists and promoting the event on social media.
“We closely watched specific artists that we felt are pushing boundaries and are working hard to achieve success in their careers by actively concluding publishing and distribution deals,” she said. “We also looked at those that are releasing good music at a constant rate. We also prioritise indie musicians.”
Rah Punzl has had a remarkable journey in the music industry. Over the past five years, she has emerged as a powerful force, with accolades including a nomination for the Basadi in Music Awards Pop Artist of the Year. Msaki, Samthing Soweto and Tresor are just some of the artists she has shared a stage with, and the insight she has gained is reflected in the spirited performances she delivers and the depth of the music she creates.
She recently performed at the Africa Day Festival alongside Marcus Harvey and Filah Lah Lah. With her growing passion for performance, Rah Punzl has set out to create opportunities for her peers and fellow artists within the industry. Her platform Rah Punzl Live has already attracted the attention of various sectors in the music industry by connecting artists with large audiences and influential brands.
