Seychelles' Grace Barbé to perform in Nairobi

The renowned artist’s style, Afro-Kreol, is a colourful and energetic fusion of tropical island rhythms with African percussion, reggae, pop, rock and Latin rhythms. Her soulful music reflects and celebrates the diverse cultural influences of her Indian Ocean heritage.

Barbé’s band has been awarded Best World Act five years running in her current home State of Western Australia. Following the release of her debut album Kreol Daughter in 2008, Barbé has performed at major festivals all over the Indian Ocean (Mauritius, La Reunion and Seychelles), as well as at many of Australia's leading music festivals, including Womadelaide, WOMAD New Zealand, Byron Bay Bluesfest and Woodford Folk Festival.

Barbé will be visiting Nairobi courtesy of Roots International through its proprietor Abdi Rashid Jibril who has partnered with Treehouse and UP Nairobi.
