Top SA DJs confirmed for LETPC panel discussion
The South African Roadies Association (SARA) has announced an eclectic panel for its DJs and producers discussion at the fourth annual Live Event Technical and Production Conference (LETPC).
The panel for the LETPC inaugural DJ and producers discussion includes South African Music Award winner Culoe de Song who is best known for his gold selling album A Giant Leap, the founder of Will of Steel Productions DJ Cleo, DJ Euphonik of Kentphonik fame and DJ Shimza who broke into the South African music scene after winning the Red Square DJ competition in 2006.
The panel will discuss best practice in the industry and the challenges that affect DJs and producers operating in the live and technical production sector.
”A successful live music and performing arts industry rides on the back of the technical and production industry,” SARA president Freddie Nyathela said.
“Without trained and experienced technical operators, no performing arts show can achieve its full potential.”
The LETPC was established to bring together experts in the technical, production and educational fields from across the globe.
This year’s conference takes place at Sunnyside Park Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 17 to 19 May.
“The LETPC conference, an initiative of the SARA, is one of its kind in Africa, attracting world-class market leaders in education, skills development and training,” the LETPC organisers said.
“It has become one of the foremost platforms for international live event technical and production professionals to meet, network and discuss critical issues that are effecting the sector.”
SARA was founded by Nyathela in 1992. In addition to the LETPC, the association also offers a training programme in live sound, lighting, staging, backline, audio-visual and production.
