Wizkid shares No Stress ahead of new album
Nigeria's Wizkid has released ‘No Stress’, the new single off his upcoming album Made in Lagos.
- Wizkid has announced the release date for his upcoming album Made in Lagos.
‘No Stress’, released on 17 September, arrives as the second single off the album, after ‘Smile’ featuring American singer H.E.R. With the song, Wizkid also announced 15 October as the date for the Made in Lagos release. Like ‘Smile’, which is set to a Caribbean melody, ‘No Stress’ celebrates a female lover. But whereas ‘Smile’ addresses romance, its successor takes a more sensual route.
Made in Lagos comprises 14 songs and will be released on Sony Music subsidiary RCA Records. When it arrives, it will be Wizkid’s fourth solo album after Superstar (2011), Ayo (2014) and Sounds From the Other Side (2017). Apart from these albums, Wizkid also contributed to the compilation albums Empire Mates State of Mind (2012) and Soundman Vol. 1 (2019).
Damian Marley, Ella Mai, Burna Boy, Starboi Teri and Skepta are among the collaborators on Made in Lagos. In July, Wizkid described the project as “the best I ever made.”
A decorated artist, Wizkid is among the African musicians who featured on Beyoncé’s 2019 collaborative album The Lion King: The Gift. Other African artists include Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Busiswa and Salatiel. ‘Brown Skin Girl’, the song on which Wizkid appears, won he BET Her Award.
