Aar Maanta
Bio
Aar Maanta (born Hassan-Nour Sayid) is a Somali-British singer, songwriter and instrumentalist based in the UK. He is also composer, music producer and actor.
Maanta studied music in school and holds a degree in science. He sings pop, rock, hip hop and R&B as well as house music. His music produces an eclectic mix of dhaanto, qaraami styles blended with traditional Somali music. Maanta spent his early years in Somalia and later moved to the UK in the early 1980s on the eve of the civil war in Somalia.
His love for music prompted him to form a band called The Urban Nomads. In April 2016, Aar Maanta released a song called ‘Tahriib’.
