Ebony J is a talented and soulful singer/songwriter from Ethiopia. She has an extensive portfolio of self-produced songs infused with reggae, jazz, soul, and positive messages that get regular airplay on Addis radio. Ebony’s voice range gives her incredible versatility in live performances, mixing her original tunes with Asa, Arethra Franklin, and Jill Scott covers; she can take entire crowds to another time, blending powerful melodies with subtle harmonies and raw emotion. She has been singing since the age of 11, studied music at college in Manchester, UK, and has sung backup vocals in performances with Rita Marley, Teddy Afro, Luciano, Sydney Salmon, Haile Roots, Kenny Allen, Don Campbell, and many others. Ebony is also the Director of New English Private School (aka NEPS), a primary and secondary school located in Addis Ababa.
