Call for entries: Musica Prospettiva scores
Italian organisation and festival Musica Prospettiva is calling on composers of any age and nationality to submit scores in all genres and styles for its 2020-21 competition.
Musica Prospettiva focuses on music in its multiplicity of expressions, cultures, genres and styles, projected into the past and the future.
First prize
- €200
- Accommodation for two nights in Torrita di Siena, Italy, for the concert.
- Performance of the composition.
- Live audio recording of the performance.
- The winning composition will be performed by Italian pianist Irene Novi as part of the 2020-21 Musica Prospettiva festival programme.
Second prize
- €100.
- Performance of the composition.
- Live audio recording of the performance.
Repertoire prize
- Performance of the composition.
- Live audio recording of the performance.
- Composition added to the pianist repertoire for future performances.
- Composers will keep performing rights.
Instrumentation
- Compositions for solo piano.
- Preparation of the piano is allowed.
- Electronics and amplification are not allowed.
Submission
- Any compositions, which have been already performed, published, recorded, awarded or not awarded, are allowed.
- Submissions do not need to be anonymous.
The following material should be sent via email at musica.prospettiva@gmail.com:
- Score(s) in PDF format.
- MP3 or link to a live or MIDI recording (if available).
- Contact information.
- Year of composition.
- Date of birth (only for general statistics, will not be published, will not affect the selection process).
- Short biography, programme notes and/or any useful information (optional).
Submission fee
- There is no limit to the number of scores.
- A €10 fee is required for each composition submitted and has to be paid via PayPal here.
- Composers do not need to own a PayPal account (credit/debit cards are accepted).
- Email musica.prospettiva@gmail.com if you can't pay with PayPal.
The deadline for submissions is 10 October. The results will be communicated on 15 November.
