Open call: Rhythmic Clash competition in SA
Bassline Live is inviting emerging bands in the Afropop, Afrofolk, Afropunk, Afrojazz, and Afrohouse genres to submit applications for its Rhythmic Clash band competition in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Successful bands will perform in small venues in and around Johannesburg under Bassline management guidance. The bands will come together to compete and showcase their talent in the month of April, two bands from each genre will then be selected to perform at the Bassline Fest on 24 and 25 of May.
How to apply for Rhythmic Clash
Applications opened on 15 February and will close on 15 March.
- Do you belong to Afro-Pop, Afro-Folk, Afro-Punk, Afro-Jazz, and Afro-House genres?
- Are you Based in Johannesburg?
- Do you have an amazing stage performance?
- If you do then you belong in the rhythmic clash.
Requirements
- Band EPK.
- Biography.
- Link to recorded music.
- Link to two high-quality video performances.
Click here to apply before 15 March. Selected Bands will be set to perform at the Rhythmic Clash. Two bands will then be selected from each genre and chosen to perform at the Bassline Fest 2025. The selected bands will be notified on 21 March 2025. Bands that have not heard anything from the Bassline team by 4 April 2025, should consider their applications unsuccessful.
