SHAKES NGEMA
Bio
Shakes Ngema (born Thokozani Maxwell) is an artist from South Africa.
Ngema is the founder of Galawela Productions and On The Move In Entertainment which is based in Richards Bay, Umhlathuze Municipality.
His first foray into music began in Ladysmith as a student at Sizakahle High School. While in high school, Ngema began to sing alto and tenor in musical activities. He continued with these before he began singing Kwaito as his musical inspiration.
Ngema started his music career in 2008 under T/square. Thereafter he was joined by his brother Singil and they started a group called Shakes no Singil. In 2018, Ngema released his single tittled 'Ubuhle Bakho', which rocked the KZN community airwaves.
He has performed at various events and in the process earned himself a spot on the music scene.
His music style is the result of a lifetime of musical influences and draws his influence from Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
