Call for applications: City of Johannesburg cultural development manager
The City of Johannesburg is seeking a candidate to fill in the position of Manager: Culture Development within its Community Development department at the Newtown Building.
The successful candidate will be part of the Arts, Culture and Heritage branch and will earn a basic salary of R39 055.92 per month excluding benefits. Interested candidates can apply here.
Requirements
- Post-matric qualification in arts, development studies, public administration or marketing (NQF level 7).
- Five to seven years’ experience working in arts and culture development, marketing and promotions of arts programmes.
- Driver’s licence.
Primary function
- To manage the cultural programme of the directorate.
- To design and implement cultural programmes of the city.
- To coordinate the virtual programmes for arts and culture.
- To manage and coordinate cultural programmes in various ACH facilities.
- To supervise the staff responsible for arts and culture activities.
- To assist with marketing and publicity of cultural programmes and to coordinate the marketing platforms for arts, culture and heritage.
- To liaise with stakeholders in the creative industries.
- To contribute to the cultural policymaking in the directorate.
