Kizz Daniel surpasses 300 million streams on Audiomack and Boomplay
Streaming platform Audiomack this week honoured Nigerian singer-songwriter Kizz Daniel for surpassing 300 million streams on the service.
The announcement arrives months after Audiomack recognised fellow Nigerian singer Simi for becoming the first female African act to hit 100 million plays on the DSP.
Kizz Daniel was presented with a plaque at his ongoing Afroclassics USA tour in New York by Audiomack vice president of marketing and brand strategy Jason Johnson.
“Over the years, Kizz Daniel has constantly shown his ability to create and deliver great music for his fans,” Jason said. “At Audiomack, we believe it is important to acknowledge and award artists for the work they put into making and promoting music digitally.
“This is why we are excited to celebrate his success and this milestone with him, and we hope to be able to celebrate many more.”
Signed to Empire and famous for singles like ‘Woju’ and ‘Yeba’, Kizz Daniel is behind four studio collections namely New Era (2016), No Bad Songz (2018), King of Love (2020) and Barnabas (2021), which has accrued over 160 million streams on Audiomack.
The singer’s latest single ‘Buga’ has received over 39 million streams on the streaming service, catapulting him to the 300 million streams.
Kizz Daniel’s new milestone coincides with his announcement as the first artist to hit 300 million streams on rival DSP Boomplay. “Give it up for the Man with No Bad Songz, King VADO himself as he becomes the first artist to hit 3 million industry-recognised standard streams on Boomplay,” the Chinese-owned company announced Wednesday. He is trailed by Burna Boy, who currently boasts 290 million streams, and Fireboy DML and Omah Lay, who have also surpassed 200 million streams.
