SA: Nobuhle drops sophomore album Indlela
South African Afro-pop and house singer Nobuhle has released a 10-track album titled Indlela, with an emphasis on healing, hope, spirituality and love.
The record is available for streaming and download here. It follows the success of her two singles titled ‘Indlela’ and ‘Malo We’, which was Apple Music’s track of the week.
“This EP has been about sharing experiences which I have encountered in this journey of life and artistic space,” Nobuhle said. “It is honesty to the shortcomings I have experienced when my spirits refused to write or sing because my head becomes a chaotic space now and then.”
The album features some of the country’s musical heavyweights including Kabza De Small, Josiah De Disciple, Mpumi Mzobe and De Mthuda, among others. The album is a beautiful blend of Zulu love peppered with gratitude to higher deities.
Nobuhle was born and raised in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal and graduated with a music and drama degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She released her debut single ‘Always With Me’ in 2020. She has worked with different house DJs and producers and was featured on Sun-EL Musician’s second album To The World and Beyond on a song titled ‘Never Never’.
She was also featured on international dance DJs duo Lemon and Herb album and DJ Merlon’s ‘Sifun’Imali’ single. Nobuhle released her debut album Imvula in September 2021. The album is a spiritual journey through African electronic sound and Afro-house.
