Call for entries: Afrochella Rising DJ challenge in Ghana
Ghanaian cultural festival Afrochella, in collaboration with digital music aggregator TuneCore, is inviting submissions for the maiden edition of the Rising DJ challenge.
The contest is open to undiscovered DJs in the country, and aims to showcase their abilities with a performance slot at this year’s Afrochella stage on 28 and 29 December in Accra.
The deadline for entries is 15 November.
How to enter
- Create a 10 to 15-minute mix featuring artists from this year’s lineup and upload here.
- Submit your application with a link to your mix on the Rising DJ landing page.
- Follow and tag @afrochella, @risingstarafrochella, @tunecore, and @tunecore.africa across social media.
Note: Applicants who need support uploading their song to DSPs should send an email to music@afrochella.com.
How it works
- The top 10 submissions will be selected by a steering committee with Afrochella DJs, TuneCore executives and the Afrochella team.
- The top three entries will be selected by fan votes via social media. Finalists will battle it out at Afrochella’s Music Museum on 27 December.
- Aside from a performance slot on the main Afrochella stage, the ultimate winner will walk away with a cash prize.
