Dr. Olugander Abukpapa
Bio
Dr. Olugander is a Finland-based reggae and dance hall artist from The Gambia.
He began music at an early age and draws inspiration from his grandfather who was also a musician. Olugander formed a trio called CAP-SYL-MAD VIBES in 1997. In 1998, the group later changed its name to Promised Land Crew and recorded their debut album entitled 'Too Late'.
In 2001, he launched a solo career. In 2008, he won the Best Reggae Song. He was later given an honorary award and invited to the US in 2009 by AGERA.
Dr. Olugander was the first musician of his generation in The Gambia to establish and register a charity foundation Gander's Production Foundation (GPF). The foundation has seen him contributing to the rehabilitation of school toilets in Wassu Upper Basic Cycle. As an ambassador of The Gambia Organisation for the Visually Impaired (GOVI), he donated to Blind School of The Gambia in January 2013. His latest album "FRIENDS ON JOURNEY" featuring big international names in the world of music, is slated to drop 1st. January, 2018.
