Ghana: Maccasio receives Apprise Music honour
Ghana-based Apprise Music Distribution last week presented local rapper Maccasio with an honourary plaque for his “remarkable achievements and contributions.”
Founded in 2017, the distro boasts a growing catalogue of more than 1 million tracks from over 20 000 recording artists, music producers and copyright owners, with presence across Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin and Uganda.
“We are thrilled to recognise and celebrate Maccasio for his incredible support and partnership with Apprise Music Distribution,” the company said, lauding the rapper for his consistent collaboration with Apprise Music and for using Apprise’s services in digitising, monetising, and promoting his craft.
Apprise says the presentation forms part of its efforts at empowering artists and providing transparent and successful music distribution, noting that the artist's “trust in our platform means the world to us, and we are grateful to be part of his journey to success.”
On his part, Maccasio, who joined Apprise in January 2020, said he was honoured to receive the accolade from the platform, which also specialises in marketing and promotion for independent and signed artists.
Maccasio is among the most successful artists from Ghana’s Northern Region, and is best known for filling up the Tamale Stadium during his music concerts. He is behind five albums, namely, Bousu (2014), O Shihila Nkpe (2015), Ninsala (2017), Zero 2 Hero (2020) and Glory (2020).
Over his career, he has signed various ambassadorial deals with Giant Malt, Modern Security Consultant Ghana, and smartphone company Infinix Mobile.
