East African stars confirmed for US festival
New York-based event production and promotion company Duke Concept has announced a new music festival in the US that will highlight East African music.
Taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, on 24 May, the Colors of the East festival will bring artists from countries like Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda
The one-day indoor festival will feature performances by Tanzanian bongo flava star Diamond Platnumz, Ethiopian hip hop act Lij Mic, Congolese rapper Innoss'B, Kenyan R&B vocalist Otile Brown and Rwandan Afrobeats act The Ben. Also set to take the stage are Somali singer Suldaan Seeraar, South Sudanese act John Frog, Ugandan genre-blender Joshua Baraka, Zambian act OC Osilliation, Tanzanian songstress Nandy, and more.
Colors of the East is Duke Concept’s newest festival to be added to its 2024 events calendar.
