Steven Sogo
Bio
Steven Sogo is an Afro-fusion musician from Burundi.
He is one of the best African bassists, a guitar player and a master of numerous traditional instruments like IKEMBE, UMUDURI, INDONONGO, INANGA, etc. His song ‘Il Est Beau Mon Pays’, a hymn to the beauty and vast human wealth of his ravaged country, was a huge pan-African hit. He actually lives in exile in Texas, US with his family due to 2015 Burundi post-election crisis. But since 2017, he has restarted Hope Street Band’s activities such as festivals, concerts and night club live performances in the US. He is still working on releasing his fourth album MBALI SANA in the days ahead to come.
