Boubacar Djiba, is among Africa’s music industry’s prolific change agents with over 15 years’ experience in the music industry in Senegal. He is an entrepreneur who evolves in the institutional, creative industry, technology and communication sector. He is a consultant, composer, producer, designer and engineer passionate for the change and development of Africa through his youth. He worked for years as Project Coordinator for the British Council where he successfully organized and coordinated projects in entrepreneurship, education and arts in Senegal and in Sub-Saharan Africa while implementing strategies of communication and marketing for those different projects.He worked as a communication officer for the UK Embassy in Senegal; He also worked with several companies as part of their visual identity, PR, marketing and communication strategies through his company Vazy Company.
Connected in the creative industry around the world, he discovers and develops talents through his label Vazy Music. He produced the song Skyfall by Sprinoir and Black M which was N1 on iTunes and on Trace TV. Mentioned by Forbes USA as part of the Akon Lightning Africa project where he made a brilliant contribution, Boubacar has a strong desire to contribute actively to the emergence of Africa. During the Covid19, he launched the first educational platform for music producer, engineers and video director in Africa, I Produce I Direct where he invited top-notch music industry experts around the world to share insights on their work but also give the blueprint to the youth to develop a sustainable business in the creative industry. We can name among the participants Irko the multi- platinum Grammy mixing engineer who mixed Kanye West album Donda and worked with major artist around the world.
Boubacar is also the country partner manager for Music Business Academy for Africa initiative the most advanced educational programme for creatives in the music industry. Our mission is to create a more informed, empowered, and employable community of competent leaders across the creative industries in Africa
In Jan 2024, Boubacar launched the first instant AI mastering platform in Africa Senmixmaster. Senmixmaster is the first AI technological start-up evolving in cultural and creative industries in Senegal, more precisely in music and audio content. Senmixmaster uses AI and reinforcement learning, its engine works like a real engineer, making original decisions as the mastering progresses by tweaking the music to remove technical errors while applying necessary enhancements or anything preventing a great music listening experience.
