SA: Cotton Fest launches creative hub in Johannesburg
With less than eight weeks until the annual Cotton Fest event, organisers have announced the launch of The Cotton Fest Exchange, a new initiative aimed at fostering creativity and collaboration among young artists, musicians, and fashion designers.
- The initiative is set to open on 10 March.
Supported by cultural collective Play Braam, the initiative is set to open on 10 March, at The Hub, 68 Juta Street, Braamfontein.
The Cotton Fest Exchange will serve as a creative workspace and networking hub, providing a platform for emerging talent to connect, collaborate, and showcase their work. Open to the public on weekdays from 12pm to 5pm, the space will remain operational until 31 July 2025.
According to organisers, the initiative is part of an ongoing effort to honour the legacy of the late Riky Rick, the festival’s founder, by continuing his vision of supporting and uplifting young creatives.
“This space is about more than just creativity, it’s about building a community where young people can share ideas, inspire one another, and push the culture forward,” organisers said.
The Cotton Fest Exchange is set to be a dynamic hub for innovation and artistic expression, reinforcing the festival’s role in shaping South Africa’s creative landscape.
