Nigeria: Qing Madi unveils Goosebumps single
Nigerian singer Qing Madi has released a new single titled ‘Goosebumps’. The track, published via JTON Music, is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
Described as a “sonic experience that cuts deep, lingers, and leaves a lasting emotional imprint,” the track explores the highs and lows of first love.
Per an official statement, ‘Goosebumps’, which follows recent singles like ‘Sins For You’, ‘YBIL’ and ‘Chargie’, straddles the delicate balance between joy and heartbreak.
“‘Goosebumps’ is me embracing the rawness of my emotions,” Qing Madi, who is steadily growing a reputation for her unique blend of R&B, soul, and alternative influences, said. “I wanted to create something that feels alive, that touches on the beauty and pain of love in a way that’s real. It’s not always perfect, and I think there’s beauty in that imperfection.”
The single reportedly heralds her debut album, expected to drop later this year. Little else is known about that project, only that it “promises a bold exploration of sound and identity.”
An alumna of the Apple Music Up Next initiative and Spotify’s EQUAL Africa programme, Qing Madi, real name Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, is behind songs like ‘See Finish’, ‘Ole’, ‘Journey’ and ‘Vision’, as well as her eponymous debut EP. She was named by music video network Vevo among a cohort of artists poised for a global breakthrough in 2024.
